GigaPan Epic Pro Gives Your DSLR Full Panoramic Power

We’ve been waiting on a DSLR version of the GigaPan Epic gigapixel photo system for a while now, and the moment’s finally arrived: the GigaPan Epic Pro handles DSLRs and large lenses to stitch together photos into sweeping panoramas.

The GigaPan Epic Pro can handle a camera and lens combination of up to ten pounds, which should pretty much have you covered. Like the Epic and Epic 100, it automatically tilts and moves your camera to capture hundreds of photos of the scene you want to capture, then stitches them together with its proprietary software into a mammoth panorama.

It also fits standard tripods, and will take up to 20 pictures per position. The mount will be available in April for $895, which includes the GigaPan Stitch software that does the dirty work. Not a bad deal, given the breathtaking images you’d be able to get.

You can order a PADandCLICK set of gels for $5 or $7 depending on whether you want the regular model or the slightly more padded arthritis edition.

Not much! We know that it probably conforms to Microsoft’s minimum requirements for Windows Phone 7, which means: a multitouch screen WVGA screen; an accelerometer; 5-megapixel camera; FM radio; 256MB of RAM; 8GB of internal storage. Internally, it has to be roughly the same phone as the other two we’ve seen.

What Is This?

What could this be? Did Pac-Man dye himself in chrome? Did the power of my goatee split a rounded mirror in half? If you can make out the logo in the top right corner, you’ll have a hint…

It’s a wine bottle foil opener by OXO. Squeeze metal Pac-Man around the top of a bottle, spin and presto, foil removed.

Is it the first foil remover we’ve ever seen? No way. Is it the most eye-catching? Quite possibly. Will its glossy finish fingerprint ID the jerk at the party who broke into your stash of prized vintage? Definitely. Available soon.
